Here's a blow-by-blow of what becoming an affiliate looks like.

I sell all my products through a checkout software called Thrivecart and they manage my affiliate program.

Once you’ve registered, you’re registered with Thrivecart. You’ll have your own Thrivecart login and dashboard where you can track your sales. I have no access to your account, it is completely private. Thrivecart will track your sales. If you don’t use your url you won’t get tracked, so please always make sure you use it and don’t direct people straight to my website.

Your url will contain your affiliate ID which you’ll set u when you register. The registration process is very simple, you just need to enter your name, email address and create an affiliate ID of your choice. It’s going o appear in your url that you’ll have to share with people so make it something you feel comfortable sharing in that way. For example if my affiliate ID is mitrasessions it would read https://mitrasessions--elevatewithenergy.thrivecart.com/reikiforbirthpartners. There’s a space for business name, this is optional.

From here you can get your affiliate links to share. You don’t need me to access the, you can login any time and pick up any link to any of my products and use it as you wish in your promotions.

Once you sign up, you’ll be given your own unique URL for each course that you send people to. You might have that be the link from a button on your website, you might put it in your Instagram bio, you might drop it in an email. Your links take people to my sales page for the relevant program, and they're unique to you (and you'll have a different URL for each program). This unique link is how Thrivecart track that the customer has come via your referral so you can earn your commission. Make sure you use your link and don't send people directly to my website otherwise it can't be tracked and you won't earn your commission.

You'll be asked to agree when you sign up, but there's a link to them here so you can check them out before you register.

They're to protect both of us and, although I'll talk about most of these here, the key things to note are:

How much and when you get paid

How tracking cookies and work and on the rare occassion that your sale might not get tracked that you won't get paid

That the last person to send a customer to the sales page will earn the commission

That you need to be located in x, y, z for tax reasons

That you are liable to pay income tax on what you earn via the program in alignment with the laws where you have a tax filing obligation

That you only use text and images I've approved to promote the courses (or one that I've provided you)

When someone visits my sales page using your link, a cookie will be set on their computer. That cookie lasts indefinitely, so if they’ve visited my sales page through your link, even if they don’t buy right away but come back a few days later and buy, the cooke will recognize they’ve come from you and credit you with that sale.

Since the cookie is placed on their computer, it doesn’t matter how much later they come back and make a purchase, it could be a year later and you will still earn a commission.

If you and someone else have both sent the same person to my sales page, the rule is that the last person to send them there earns the commission. This is the standard in the online courses industry.

In the UK and EU, people are able to block cookies on their devices. If someone does that, unfortunately the tracking is not going to work. My experience is that very few people block cookies so hopefully this own’t has much of an impact for you, but I want to make you aware. Also, because it is cookie based, if someone used your link to look at my sales page on their phone, and later visited my website on their computer, there would be no way to track that, and in that instance you would not get paid. The links to my sales pages are long so people are unlikely to type them into their browser themselves, so this shouldn’t;t happen often either.

Once you've signed up, you’ll be invited to connect your PayPal account, but to do that you must have a business PayPal account. If you don't have a business PayPal account you won't be able to connect it. That's no problem, but you d need to have a personal PayPal account for me to pay you.

If you have a business account and you connect it, you’ll get paid automatically. Thrivecart will let my PayPal account know how much to pay your PayPal account and it will all happen by magic. If you only have a personal account, I will pay you manually (much as it pains me, I can't do this as friends and family, so you will lose some of the commission to PayPal).

If you have a business PayPal account and are being paid automatically, that will happen 30 days after the sale is made, so you’ll receive it in dribs and drabs as each 30 days passes. If you have a personal PayPal accouny and you’re being paid manually, this will happen on the last working day of each month, and will apply to all sales from the previous month e.g on 28th February you'll receive money for all the sales you made in January. So you'lll be waiting slightly longer for your payouts if you’re on manual payments.
